SkinPen microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses a device equipped with fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural wound healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production, which can improve skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance.
- Targeted Concerns:
- Fine lines and wrinkles: Helps reduce the appearance of aging.
- Acne scars: Improves the texture and visibility of scars.
- Stretch marks: Can help in reducing the appearance of stretch marks.
- Large pores: Aids in making pores appear smaller.
- Overall skin texture: Enhances the smoothness and tone of the skin.
- Downtime:
- After the procedure, patients may experience redness and swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, which typically lasts a few hours to a couple of days.
- Most individuals can return to normal activities within 24 to 48 hours.
- Complete healing may take about a week, and as collagen continues to rebuild over the following months, results will improve over time.
Options:
- Basic: Provider will choose a serum to be applied that best suits your needs
- Advanced: specialized skin boosters or exosomes will be applied to enhance results.
- Skin Booster: specialized dermal treatments designed to enhance the effects of microneedling by providing the skin with vital nutrients, hydration, and regenerative properties.
- Exosomes: Exosomes are tiny vesicles that carry growth factors and signaling molecules, promoting cellular communication and repair. Using exosomes during microneedling can enhance healing, improve skin texture and elasticity, and support overall skin rejuvenation.
- PRP/PRF: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) are both derived from your own blood and are increasingly used in conjunction with microneedling to enhance skin rejuvenation and healing processes. Adding PRP or PRF to microneedling can significantly enhance the effectiveness by promoting healing, boosting collagen production, and improving overall skin quality. Because these treatments utilize your body’s natural growth factors, they provide a safe and effective way to achieve rejuvenated skin.
- PDGF: PDGF (Platelet Derived Growth Factor) is similar to PRP/PRF but it is made in a lab and therefore has more controlled and often a higher number of growth factors. PRP/PRF is most often amazing, however, we cannot control how many growth factors are in your blood. Therefore, PDGF is great for those with advanced age, chronic conditions, or recent illness. PDGF accelerates the healing process by promoting cell proliferation and tissue regeneration, allowing for quicker recovery post-treatment; stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, essential for improving skin texture, firmness, and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. When used together with microneedling, PDGF boosts the overall effectiveness of the treatment, leading to better skin rejuvenation and more pronounced outcomes.’
- Biorepeel: Combining Biorepeel with microneedling can significantly enhance your skin rejuvenation results. By working together, they provide a powerful treatment option for addressing various skin concerns while maximizing the benefits of each procedure by: enhancing skin rejuvenation leading to improved texture and tone; boosting absorption; increasing collagen production; improving skin concerns like pigment, fine lines, and acne scars.
- This is an advanced treatment that requires at least one Biorepeel session alone prior to adding on microneedling.
